How Body Shapewear and Seamless Shapewear Can Slim You in Minutes

We all want that miracle fix for our bodies, especially when spring is just around the corner. Spring means we can't hide under our layers and layers of winter clothing and have to face the reality of what the holidays has done to our waistline. Diet drug makers most definitely have caught on to the spring time weight loss frenzy, and are trying to capitalize. Just look at all the products on the market claiming to burn fat instantly, without dieting OR exercise.

Or the even worse miracle cures that boast gimmicks like, eat nothing Taco Bell for two weeks, you'll lose 5 pounds per week! Not only are these diet trends ridiculous, but the makers of these diets and "fat burning" pills are more concerned about making a buck than they are with your long-term health and well being.

If you're not interested in experimenting with crash diets and pills that lead to no results, but really don't have time or money to go to the gym and get your diet under control, you should look into body shapewear and seamless shapewear for a temporary fix. We've come a long way from the days of corsets, these silhouette enhancing garments are great if you're planning on wearing that spring dress, but are concerned with your figure.

How To Buy The Best Swimsuit, Or Bikini For You

The Best Swimsuit For Your Shape

No, it's not an oxymoron; you really can find the perfect suit to flatter your
figure if you just understand a few things. The very first thing to know is that
there are very few perfect bodies out there. Everyone has something they are trying
to deal with. Here are a few tips.

One-Piece or Two-Piece Swimsuit?

Some of the most beautiful, sexiest women seen on the beach wear one-piece swimsuits.
They do not reveal it ALL, just enough to keep things interesting. Some one piece
swimwear have cut-out sides, others do the deep plunge to reveal some cleavage
or hike it up at the hip to accentuate the leg. The swimsuit rule here is to show
off your best assets and conceal the others. Always remember that you are aiming
for a balanced silhouette.

Swimsuit For Swimming

If you're into swimming, definitely get a one-piece. Find one that doesn't cut
into the shoulders, has comfortable, stretchy fabric and doesn't creep up the
backside. Forget bikini strings. You just don't want anything to come undone while
you're doing laps or snorkeling off a crowded beach.

Small On Top

If you're small on top, you may want to try the better swimsuits from Brazil,
such as ViX, or Salinas. These designers have adjusted their swimsuit patterns
to the fit American market, however, they still run on the small side.

Look for bikini tops with a touch of padding, or an under wire, demi-bra style
that makes the most of a beautiful, dainty, bust line. Try to find a swimsuit
top with adjustable straps at shoulders and around back so that you can tighten
and adjust things, to help fill out the top line.

You are very lucky that you have the body to wear those cute, ruffled, swimsuit
tops that are so hot right now, so go for it. And as for bandeau bikini tops,
only you can wear those well. You can also show off in those tiny, string bikini
tri-tops that the big busted girls only dream about.

Avoid tops with too much fabric or have a poor fit. Opt for separates, where you
can choose your top and bottom separately.

Big On Top

Halter-top bikinis can be a good choice by offering support, while providing some
sexy cleavage too. Look for swimwear styles that have wide bands around the midriff
and can be tied in back and around the neck. This style will give you some lift
and will allow you to make adjustments for a personal fit. You may need some extra
support; underwire swimsuit tops can also work well, but only if they fit perfectly.

Look for one-piece swimsuits with some structure in the bust, such as soft foam
cups or at least, a shelf bra. Straight cut bust styles such as a classic tank
swimsuit can look clean and sporty. Wide shoulder straps will also be much more
comfortable than thin, spaghetti straps.

Avoid strapless bandeau tops and those tiny, tri-tops that offer minimal coverage.
Again, make sure to get a suit where you can order the top and bottom sizes separately.

Short Legs or Torso

Play up your figure by finding a bathing suit that is cut high on the thigh. This
will make your leg look much longer. If you have curvy hips, then all the better.
This cut will accentuate your smaller waist and give you a flirty look.

You've probably already heard that vertical stripes can visually lengthen the
body. Well, here's another trick. Wear a solid bottom bikini with a printed, or
embellished top. This will draw the eye upward and give you a longer look.

A solid, one-piece bathing suit with a plunging neckline creates a continual,
long appearance and is absolutely, drop dead sexy to boot!

Avoid boy shorts and skirted bikinis as they draw the eye downward and can make
you look shorter.

Long Body Shape

Clothes drape beautifully on you and your legs go on and on. But, you do need
to make sure that you do not look like a bean pole at the beach in your swimsuit.
You can go wild with the embellishments at the hips and bust line. Ruching, rings,
jewels, ties and bows are all good things for you. Try horizontal, or diagonal
stripes and nappy fabrics, such as stretch terry and velvet.

Boy shorts are just the thing for your slim hips. Oh, and those cute, ruffled
bikini skirts and cover-ups? They're made just for you!

If you want a one-piece swimsuit, try one of the latest, cut-out suits. It will
break up your long torso, just like a bikini does.

Avoid up and down stripes, high necklines and dark, solid colors.

No Waist

No problem. It's not that you don't have a waistline, it's that you hips are slim.

If you don't have many curves, create some by wearing one-piece suit with a high-on-the-thigh
cut. A belted waistline on a one-piece suit will give the appearance of a whittled
middle. So will a draped, surplice detail that pinches in at the waist, or a curvy
seam line that runs down each side of the torso.

Bikinis are good for you. Add some illusion at the hips with rings, ruffles, folds,
ruching and bows. Rings on a bikini bottom will flatter a figure with no waist.
If you're small on top, go for a strapless bandeau top. Pick out for a dark, solid
bottom and a wildly printed or embellished top.

Avoid solid-colored or horizontal striped one-pieces.

Wide Shoulders

Balance is the key word here. You will want to play up the bottom of your torso
and minimize the top. Wear bikini bottoms that have lots of color and print and
also sport accents at the hips such as ties, belts, folds and sashes. The new,
moderate cut bottom was made for you. Also, wide shoulder straps and square necklines
can make you look fabulous.

Avoid the "V" silhouette by staying away from those plunging neck lines or teeny,
tiny bikini bottoms.

Plus Size Figure

Show a little skin in just the right places and you will look seductively svelte
and super sexy!

Look for one-piece swimsuits with lace or mesh inserts at the waistline. A strategically
placed cut-out, or a deep V neckline, can really change your visual image.

Lengthen your thigh with an adjustable gathers at the hip. A short or long sarong
can give you a little confidence and still look totally glamorous.

Try some of those great, color-block swimsuits that have a different color panel
that curves along the waistline, giving a slimming illusion. Dark, cool colors
are always good and so are swirling, or V patterns. Try a swimsuit with dark,
solid panels down each side of the torso and a floral printed middle.

Avoid too much fabric. Modesty is certainly OK, but too much coverage is not necessarily
a better option. Also, stay away from white, as well as bright, neon fabrics and
those nappy textiles.

Too Much Tummy

If you are self conscious about your tummy try one of those fabulous, tummy, control
panel, swimsuits: they really work wonders.

If you're going for a two-piece swimsuit, then checkout the, "meet-and-greet,"
tankinis that are on still the fashion scene today. They cover just enough, but
you still have the freedom and hip factor of a bikini. A one-piece with some close
draping around the waist or hips can also help to conceal.

Avoid itsy bitsy bikinis and blah, solid colored, one-pieces.

Big On Bottom

The newest, mini-skirted bikinis are too cute and made just for you! Don't go
for a super frilly one, though. Instead, pick a smooth, skimming skirt that is
short and sweet, but covers what it needs to. A ruffled or highly decorated top
is OK though. The details will draw attention to your top half.

You could also go for a moderate, folded bottom bikini that has a 2 inch side...very
chic! Make that a solid bottom and print top for a super effect.

Try a maillot one piece. Something with wide straps, or a strong horizontal neckline,
will balance out your silhouette. Remember, playing up your top side will de-emphasize
your bottom side.

Avoid boy shorts, too skimpy bottoms, or lots of ruffles and details at the hips.

Pregnant

Do you know how beautiful you are right now? Enjoy your day in the sun!

Some moms-to-be choose to go with a regular bikini because they don't have to
worry about the middle part getting in the way. However, as the day draws closer,
you will probably want a one-piece. Pick one that you can let out and adjust as
your tummy and hips expand. You will probably want some support in the bust as
well.

The Perfect Body

If you've got it go for it! Let's face it; you work hard to keep your body in
perfect shape. A tiny, designer bikini looks good on so few people, you should
consider it your solemn duty to beautify the beach and make a few heads turn.

You Get What You Pay For

By all means, avoid buying a cheaply made swimsuit, or bikini from one of those
mass marketed, chain stores, or fly-by-night web hawkers. They may look like a
bargain in the short run, but you won't get the fit and quality that you expect
and it won't last nearly as long. It takes a lot of time and expertise to make
a great swimsuit, not to mention excellent materials and workmanship, so you may
pay a little more up front. However, you will be better off with one, or two,
higher quality swimsuits that are sympathetic to your body type and will endure
through several seasons. Spend the extra money...you and your body will be glad
that you did.

Find It BEFORE You Go

Find your suit BEFORE you go on vacation. Prices at resorts can be astronomical
and you don't want to spend all of your time looking for a suit that fits, especially
in a foreign country that considers a size 3 "average." Make sure you take your
measurements before you start shopping and use those, not size numbers to find
your best fit. Choose your tops and bottoms separately so that you can create
a custom tailored suit. What ever you do, don't just sit there on the deck or
sand. Get out there and enjoy your tropical adventure!

Who Should Choose Bandeau Bathing Suits?

Women who are less endowed in the bust area and who have less than an hourglass figure are perfect for this style of ladies beach apparel. The small tube top design doesn't generally offer much support for a large breasted woman. Although some bandeau bathing suits do offer additional support in the bust, the suit is best suited to younger ladies with less. Bottoms for your bandeau top are another important factor in choosing this style of swimwear. Since most are sold as separates, you can choose they style of bottoms you want but remember that the more coverage you wear the more balanced you will look.

Women's swimwear also offers bandeau swimsuits as one-piece suits. This is because along with the stylish look women also need control and comfort in beachwear. The women's one-piece bandeau swimsuits are designed to give this control along with slimming qualities that most of the two-piece suits do not. Ladies who are too large to wear a juniors size should probably steer away from the bandeau style for obvious reasons such as bust size and slimming properties.

Looking in the mirror, some ladies are simply horrified with the appearance of their upper thighs and for this reason would never consider wearing beachwear. They don't have to worry any longer because designers have considered this minor flaw and have designed swimsuits with skirted bottoms. The Beach Belle Coral Sweetheart Twist Front Bandeau Swimdress is swimwear that uses a ruffled skirt to help hide or camouflage the upper thighs. A lot of beach apparel can be purchased as separates allowing you to mix and match tops with bottoms for the perfect look.

If you are looking for something a little more traditional, the Christina Art Zone Bandeau Swimsuit offers you a traditional look while still helping to control your tummy. It is a bathing suit that uses a shelf bra for support and gives you the option of removing the straps. Most bandeau beachwear such as this one offers you a traditional look while it is still in style with the recent trends.

There are a number of local retailers that carry beach apparel but for the largest selection available, go online. Many of the online retailers such as alwaysforme.com and Swimsuitsforall.com offers you a wide range of selections so you can mix and match in any way you want. Choose matching tops and bottoms or contrasting ones for a completely different look. You may even choose several different pieces of swimwear so you can mix and match them all.

Your choice in swimwear does not depend on your body style or shape. These two things do make a difference in whether your beachwear looks proper on you or whether you should have gone with a different style. It doesn't matter how tall or short you are or the color of your hair. The only really important thing in selecting your beach apparel is that you are comfortable in what your purchase. After all, you are the one who has to wear it.

Different Types of Bathing Suit Tops

With the endless shopping possibilities offered on the internet comes the problem on how to choose the best fitting garment for your body shape.

You know what styles and colors look good on you but it's hard to buy a piece of clothing without trying it on. And this is especially true when we talk about bathing suits! Everything looks so good in the pictures, on a perfect model body surrounded by palm trees and hot sand... but how is going to look on you?

Here you'll find a few tips that will help you better understand the different swimwear styles and what are their advantages and disadvantages.

Let's start with the most fashionable look this summer, the bandeau top swimsuit. This beautiful and ultra feminine style will make look effortlessly sophisticated... in the perfect color for your skin tone and with the right accessories, is guaranteed to bring you a truly exclusive and refined look. Bandeau style bikinis can come with molded or lined cups and also with removable neck or shoulder straps.

The molded bandeau top is made of light foamy fabric and has a preformed shape which offers bust enhancement and contours your natural shape. The great advantage that comes with this style is the added support even when you wear it strapless. Another plus is the even and beautiful tan you'll get on your shoulders and back, so you don't have to worry about tan lines when wearing a bandeau style top or dress.

Another flattering and fashionable style is the push-up top swimsuit. This sensational and highly seductive design appeals to a large verity of tastes and shapes and is guaranteed to bring you the ultimate perfect fit that is both glamorous and comfortable.

It's the ideal solution for those who wish to enhance their decollete and it has the effect of adding almost one extra size. The cups have under wires for added support and are preformed (molded) of a light foamy fabric that will round and enhance your natural shape. Most push-up swimsuits have inner pockets with extra removable padding which greatly increases proportions.

The most widely spread design is the triangle top swimsuit. The classic triangle bikini has double lined cups sliding on a string which ties around your bust line. This sweet and dynamic style is perfect for a casual day at the beach when you just want to get the perfect tan. Although traditionally suitable for those with small breasts, today there are triangle shaped bathing suits that thanks to an internal support structure and perfected design, offer great wearability and support for any size and shape. This specific style is called molded triangle top swimsuit. This great invention is a unique combination that offers both push-up effect, contoured natural shape and perfect tanning! The cups are molded but don't have any removable padding which means little water absorption, fast drying and stable shape.

In the end, we have the halter top swimsuits. This chic and comfortable style can also have molded or double lined cups. The preformed, stiff cups offer great support for big breasts along with shape contouring and bust enhancement. It's also more comfortable to wear then a push-up bra because it doesn't have under wires. A halter top bikini is your best choice for an active lifestyle, swimming and beach sports.

Jolidon Fashion online boutique offers a large variety of these different swimwear styles and our goal is to help you find the perfect swimsuit that reflects your individual style, enhances your natural beauty and inspires self confidence. Our unique and glamorous collection of women's beachwear has fresh alluring styles available every day, every season, every occasion to make you look fabulous!

The Bathing Suit and Its History

Believe it or not, swimsuits have been around since the days of Ancient Rome, when public bathing was all the rage (hence the term bathing suit). What's interesting is that the suits women wore a millennia ago were shockingly similar to the suits women wear today. When the trend crossed the pond to America, conservative minds grabbed hold of the idea, turning functional lightweight swimsuits into bulky dresses made out of wool. In 1946 the modern day bikini was born, at a time when women were beginning to flirt with new-found freedoms and civil rights. During the 60s, designers tapped into the wide-spread feelings of rebellion and discontent with social constraints.

Now that the free-love days are over and we're all burned out on overexposed models and actresses-nothing surprises us anymore. Girls are learning the value of leaving more to the imagination rather than letting it hang all out for the world to see. Okay, we know why. But you get the idea!

There are a lot of great ways to accessorize with one-piece suits. Along with the beach/pool essentials, silk scarves are a great way to keep the wind from tangling hair and fading hair color, and they happen to be this season's "it" accessory. Hollywood role models have had a counter-effect in some circles of young people.

What's more, I think we're simply bored. We have decades of fashion trends to reflect on and re-invent in fun and creative ways. One-piece swimsuits are more flattering to some body types-they can elongate the torso and camouflage problem areas and scars from C-sections. If the Baywatch babes can look sexy in a one-piece, why can't the rest of us?

2011 Spring and Summer Bathing Suit Trends

Check out what our fashion experts discovered for the 2011 spring and summer season:

Color

Summer is about color and this summer, we're bringing back the 70s! The swimwear runways were popping with shades of khaki and aqua from rich, subtle neutrals, tans and nudes to vibrant, exciting turquoises, teals and seafoams. Our three color picks for the season? Coral, khaki and lapis. Last year's neon 80's inspirations have been toned down, muted and revamped for a classier, more sophisticated palette. Always a classic? Black and white.

Our Pick: This Vitamin A bikini pairs two of the season's hottest trends; bright aqua hues and a bandeau top!

Bold Prints

In keeping with the retro aesthetic that will be popular for the upcoming spring/summer season many of the prints will reflect a 70s, boho vibe. From Native American inspired prints, to hippie imbued designs, swimsuits and bikinis this summer will be all about the 70s bohemian movement. Look for Navajo style patterns, fringe accessories, paisley prints, soft 60s florals and earth tones!

Our Pick: Channel your inner flower child in this Native American inspired bathing suit by L*Space complete with fringe!

Embellishments

From frills to fringe, this season it's all about the accents on your bathing suits. Look for fringe, wooden rings and accouterments, beaded accents on ties, ruffles and other embellishments! Metal and wood hardware that adds a geometric or architectural touch can transform a plain bikini into a fashion forward look.

Our Picks: This L*Space bikini features two of our favorite trends architectural accents and bandeau tops! If you prefer a more avant garde look, this Luli Fama two piece swimsuit also features a bandeau top with a unique starfish design in the center. Another popular Luli Fama bikini features a sweet heart decor in the center of the bandeau top, perfectly complimenting its wild zebra print!

Cutouts

Possibly the biggest trend for the season is the cutout one piece. Bringing back the glamourous 70s aesthetic, cutout pieces are a symbol of sleek, classic style. These maillots offer the thrill of a subtle skin flash while offering you the option to remain a little more covered up. Pair with a big, floppy straw hat, some cat eye sunglasses and bangles for the ultimate lounge look.

Our Picks: Combine two of this seasons trends fringe and cutout accents -- with this tan L*Space maillot. Sexy, subtle and chic! Those looking for something a little more daring will be sure to turn heads in this little black L*Space number. If your look is less vamp and more fun-in-the-sun, we recommend this creamy Vitamin A swimsuit, featuring a sexy décolletage and gold accents, or this L*Space sport swimsuit that combines classic American sportswear style with sexy summer trends!

Sheer

We know what you're thinking -- sheer? For a bathing suit? This year, it's all about the cover ups. A light dress can take you from the beach to the bar, while a blousy top can be the perfect casual piece for a stroll on the boardwalk. This season it's all about sheer -- whether you opt for mesh, lace, breezy cotton or crochet!

Our Picks: This gorgeous, crochet poncho from Vitamin A is the perfect beach cover up! Throw it on over a bikini, strap on some platform sandals and go grab an ice cream! For something a little lacier, we chose this L Space piece -- perfect with denim shorts and some huarache sandals!
